Introducción. “Poefonías, una Declaración de Principios”. Por Ferran Destemple.

En este catálogo se presenta una selección de piezas visuales que intenta hilar unos elementos concomitantes como son la fotografía, el vídeo y el aspecto sonoro. Todo ello tiene como núcleo principal la palabra. Una palabra que apenas lo es, que apenas se sostiene en el significado, en el contenido. En estas llamadas Poefonías se explora la potencia de los límites del lenguaje, se circula por las periferias del sentido para intentar expresar el desconcierto contemporáneo. Que el lenguaje, que el habla, que el apenas balbuceo precise de imágenes es una apreciación que podríamos debatir. Las imágenes pueden transcurrir en el tiempo, incitando a la narración. Aquí, sin embargo, no ocurre eso. Las imágenes reflejan el carácter fragmentado, la disolución del sentido mediante paradojas visuales, texturas superpuestas y formas abstractas que trazan un ambiente cercano a lo onírico. El azar objetivo es la brújula que traza el camino de estas Poefonías. Lo cotidiano, las frases hechas, las onomatopeyas, los errores, el tartamudeo, el color saturado, la imagen fragmentada y una geometría psicodélica son el recorrido, la ruta por la que discurren estas pequeñas piezas que intentan retratar el desconcierto y la perplejidad en el que vivimos. Este catálogo es una invitación a perderse por estas geografías periféricas y a caminar por el arte sin complejos.

 

Introduction. ‘Poephonies, a Declaration of Principles’. By Ferran Destemple

This catalogue presents a selection of visual pieces that attempt to weave together concomitant elements such as photography, video and sound. The main nucleus of all this is the word. A word that is barely a word, that is barely sustained in its meaning, in its content. In these so-called Poephonies, the power of the limits of language is explored, the peripheries of meaning are explored in an attempt to express contemporary bewilderment. That language, that speech, that the barely babbling needs images is an assessment that could be debated. Images can pass in time, inciting narration. Here, however, this is not the case. The images reflect the fragmented character, the dissolution of meaning through visual paradoxes, overlapping textures and abstract forms that trace an atmosphere close to the dreamlike. Objective chance is the compass that traces the path of these Poephonies. The everyday, the set phrases, the onomatopoeias, the mistakes, the stuttering, the saturated colour, the fragmented image and a psychedelic geometry are the journey, the route along which these small pieces that try to portray the bewilderment and perplexity in which we live. This catalogue is an invitation to lose oneself in these peripheral geographies and to walk through art without complexes.
